Fine Toad & Coulsdon CP update April 2023

Eleanor and Wendy are still desperately looking for suitable premises for Eleanor to buy to give Fine Toad a home in Coulsdon. We are in talks with a potential seller at the moment so, fingers crossed, we can progress to open a shop in Coulsdon this year.

Eleanor is Chairing the new Coulsdon Community Partnership (CCP) which got Charity status earlier in 2023.  Coulsdon Community Partnership are fundraising and organising more community events for Coulsdon, encouraging volunteering, supporting the town centre and local businesses.

CCP already ran a successful Christmas event in December 2022, continuing the great work of previous organisers of Coulsdon Yulefest. Yuletide Magic involved a Christmas market, Santa's Grotto, funfair rides, games and stage. This year we have supported Ashley at Cozy Glow who organises the Easter Trail and this year added some market stalls on Easter Saturday. CCP are supporting The Hive, the new community garden being developed behind the library. The hard-landscaping works are due to start soon, which will then make it more feasible to open up the space to the public regularly.

With charity status for CCP, there is more transparency, there are more opportunities for funding and incentive for business donations, which we hope will bring in more funds to create and support even more local community initiatives for Coulsdon.

The Big Lunch at Coulsdon Memorial Ground, Marlpit Lane on Sunday 7th May will give you the opportunity to come and celebrate the King’s Coronation together.

The Big Lunch at Coulsdon Memorial park flyer. Sun 7 May 12-5pm bring your own picnic.

There is already another Halloween event planned and Yuletide Magic for Christmas. The Hive and CCP are having a stall at the fantastic Old Coulsdon Village Fair on 1st July, if you want to come and find out more, make suggestions or talk anything Coulsdon-related, come along!

In the meantime, keep your eye on the Coulsdon Community Partnership Facebook page, join the group and see the website.
